Mars July 13 2018
Mars is approaching obosition July 31. It will be the closest to Earth than it has been since 2003. Unfortunitly in June a global storm kicked up and made all the terrain near impossible to see. When looking through my telescope it looks just like a red disk and no detail can be brought out. After taking 30 seconds of video at 200 frames per second and stacking the best 10% of the video then processing it in Photoshop, I was able to pull some detail out. You can see the Northern polar cap and the feature called Syrtis Major. I used my 12 inch Dob with a 2x barllow and planetary camera ZWO ASI294MC-S
